Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) owner, Senator Manny Pacquiao, slapped the Soccsksargen Marlins with a suspension on allegations of game-fixing and other activities. In a memo released last Monday, the senator said the National Bureau of Investigation will be conducting an investigation into the matter.
The team is backed by Armor On, which is run by suspected drug lord Kerwin Espinosa.
Soccsksargen has yet to win 18 games and has lost with an average margin of 18.6 points.
Amid the suspension, Pacquiao and his team will take over the franchise until the issue is resolved or a new team owner takes over./ASC, WDJ
