Two killed, one injured in Bacolod City ‘hit-and-run’

Two people, including a minor, were killed while another was seriously injured after the tricycle they were riding was struck by a pickup truck late Saturday night along Bacolod City’s Circumferential Road.
Police identified one of the fatalities as 36-year-old Geneses Eraga, a resident of Barangay Matab-ang in Talisay City. Authorities requested anonymity for the second fatality, who was five years old, along with the minor’s eight-year-old sibling who was injured.
Police Station 3 traffic investigator, Police Staff Sergeant Bryan Cordero, said the three were heading home after visiting a cemetery in San Enrique.
After reaching Barangay Mandalagan, their tricycle was struck by an unknown vehicle. Following the incident, the unidentified driver sped away.
The victims were all rushed to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital, where two of the victims later succumbed to their injuries.
Police are still investigating the incident./DGB, WDJ
