The Philippine national 3×3 basketball team was one of 20 named to compete in the upcoming FIBA 3×3 Olympic Qualifying Tournament, which is scheduled to take place next March in India. The Philippines was drawn in Group C alongside Slovenia, France, the Dominican Republic, and Qatar.
“We’re very happy that the Philippines will be competing in the upcoming Olympic qualifying tournament,” said Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP) President Al Panlilio. “We’re delighted that a Filipino basketball team will get to test their skills against the world’s best.”
Among those eligible to suit up for the Philippines include Alvin Pasaol, Leonard Santillan and Joshua Munzon, who all postponed their participation in this year’s PBA Rookie Draft for the chance to play in the Olympics.
