DepEd offices and classes suspended tomorrow, half-day today

The Department of Education (DepEd) formally suspended classes tomorrow, November 1, as a means of providing an opportunity for employees and students to travel home for the All Souls’ and All Saints’ Day observances. In addition, a half-day was declared today, which means classes and DepEd offices will close at 12:00 noon.
In a social media post, the government department said class and office suspensions for private schools are to be determined by their respective administrations.
They also note, DepEd divisions involved in disaster response and relief must continue operations.
According to Presidential Proclamation No. 555, signed by President Rodrigo Duterte last year, the All Souls’ and All Saints’ Day observances are considered special non-working holidays./WDJ
