Vallacar Transit Inc. (VTI), parent company of the Ceres bus liner, assured the riding public that they have enough buses for the rush of travelers expected for the upcoming All Souls’ and All Saints’ Day observance. In a radio interview with Aksyon Radyo-Bacolod, VTI public relations officer Jade Seballos said, as part of their preparations, all drivers and conductors underwent medical check-ups.
The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency also conducted drug testing on 100 bus drivers operating from both the Bacolod North and South Terminals.
All drivers tested negative.
According to Seballos, the check-ups were conducted to ensure drivers will not expect problems while traveling.
She added, before buses depart their respective terminals, drivers will be made to undergo a breathalyzer test.
Seballos also advised the public to avoid riding overloaded buses in order to prevent accidents.
Meanwhile, bus service will also be available for 24 hours./DGB, WDJ
