San Miguel Beermen head coach Leo Austria did not hide his disappointment as his squad is currently in a slump in the ongoing PBA Governor’s Cup. He suggests the team has become complacent.
“What is lacking in our team [is] we’re so complacent because of our good start and they thought it [would be] easy to win,” he explained. “We have to continue competing because the problem in our last games [was that] we [were] just playing [and] not competing.”
“I told them we should start—we have to act together, especially in practice,” the coach added.
The team has suffered losses to Barangay Ginebra San Miguel, NorthPort Batang Pier, and the Meralco Bolts.
“We should get back to the way we played in the playoffs,” Austria said. “The way we play right now is not like we’re looking for another championship.”/ASC, WDJ
