Ateneo de Manila University (AdMU) edged close to a sweep of the 82nd UAAP men’s basketball elimination round following their recent 88-51 annihilation of National University (NU) at the Ynares Center in Antipolo City.
Angelo Kouame top-scored for AdMU with 17 points, 15 rebounds, and three blocks; while Ilonggo forward Ferdinand ‘Thirdy’ Ravena III chipped in 15 markers.
Currently carrying a 13-0 win-loss record, AdMU can clinch an outright spot in the finals seat with a sweep if they defeat the University of the Philippines today.
After surrendering the first two points of the game to NU, AdMU zoomed to a 17-6 edge on baskets from Kouame and Ravena before settling for a 22-12 edge after the quarter. NU then threatened to bring the game to single digits in the second period but AdMU created distance behind inside hits from Kouame for a 44-27 halftime edge.
