Meralco pounds San Miguel, 125-99 B

The Meralco Bolts pounded the San Miguel Beermen last Sunday in the 2019 PBA Governors’ Cup with a 125-99 win at the Smart Aranata Coliseum.
Allen Durham tallied a triple-double for Meralco with 29 points, 15 rebounds, and 11 assists; while Baser Amer drained four triples and finished with 26 markers; Allein Maliksi made an immediate impact with his new team scoring 12 points; Chris Newsome added 14; Raymond Almazan – 12; and Bryan Faundo – 10.
The Bolts jumped to a 30-21 edge on inside hits by Durham and back-to-back treys from Maliksi. The Beermen then rallied and got to within 50-42 but Meralco widened their lead anew to 64-49 at the half following baskets from Amer.
Meralco continued to dominate in the second half with Amer connecting from the outside and Durham dominating inside as their lead reached its peak at 125-97 after an inside hit by Raymon Jamito./ASC, WDJ
