Ford Philippines will be bringing its Driving Skills for Life (DSFL) program to Iloilo City today with hopes of educating drivers to be safer and more responsible on the road. The program will take place at the Iloilo Convention Center, located at the Iloilo Business Park in the city’s Mandurriao district, and will comprise of three training sessions at 10:00 a.m., 12:30 p.m., and 2:00 p.m.
The program intends to teach drivers about the benefits of smart, safe, and fuel-efficient driving as well as necessary driving skills to help minimize road accidents, altercations, and traffic congestion.
For this year’s program, Ford is looking to partner with local taxi, bus, and ride-sharing companies as well as traffic management bureaus, colleges, and universities within Bacolod City.
In addition, the program will emphasize the dangers of distracted driving and drunk driving, as well as tips and techniques on driving under special conditions. Drivers attending the event will also be refreshed on road statistics and relevant regulations such as the Child Safety in Motor Vehicles Act.
“One of our commitments at Ford is to help promote and improve road safety in the country,” said Ford Philippines Assistant Vice President for Communications EJ Francisco. “Our aim every year is to increase driver safety awareness with the DSFL, practicing the proper skills required of anybody who gets behind the wheel, and ensuring that drivers and their passengers get to their destinations safely all the time.”
The program visited Bacolod City last month, where, aside from public utility vehicle operators, the company also reached out to business process outsourcing companies to encourage their employees to attend the DSFL program.
Walk-ins are welcome but participants who wish to reserve a spot can send a text message to the Tuason Racing School at 0956-564-4385. Participants must bring their valid driver’s license. (PR)
