UST beats Adamson, nears UAAP semifinal berth

The University of Santo Tomas (UST) edged closer to an 82nd UAAP men’s basketball season semifinal berth after their 80-74 win over Adamson University last Saturday at the Ynares Center in Antipolo City.
After taking a 67-55 lead early in the fourth period, UST was held scoreless as Adamson unloaded 12 unanswered points with back to back baskets by Simon Camacho tying up the game with 4:37 remaining.
Sherwin Concepcion, Henri Lorenzo Subido, and Negrense point guard Mark Nonoy got UST back on track after landing triples to take a 76-69 advantage with 1:36 left in the game.
Nonoy finished with 17 points, eight rebounds, and five assists for UST; Soulemane Chabi Yo added 16 points, 15 rebounds, and two blocks; while Rhenz Abando scored 13 points; and Subido chipped in 12./ASC, WDJ
