A police officer assigned to the Moises Padilla Police Station was relieved effective yesterday after he tested positive for illegal drugs in a drug test, which was administered as part of his application for a promotion.
Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office director, Police Colonel Romeo Baleros, said the officer in question was also recommended for the dismissal from service.
“We do not want police personnel with an inclination for illegal drugs,” he explained. “I want him to be dismissed from the service.”
The said cop, who carried the rank of master sergeant, had a drug test last week and Baleros said he received confirmation of the results yesterday.
The police official added, he had already ordered the Provincial Detection and Management Section chief to look into the matter for the dismissal./DGB, WDJ
