11 schools, 14 barangays set to join dance competition

A total 11 Bacolod City schools are expected to participate in this weekend’s MassKara Festival Street and Arena Dance Competition. There will be seven competing in the elementary category and four in the secondary division.
Banago Elementary School I, Estefania Elementary School, Fr. Gratian Murray AFSC Integrated School, Jose J. Gonzaga Elementary School, E. J. Garcia Elementary School, Education and Training Center School III (ETCS III), and R.A. Medel Sr. Elementary School will be joining the elementary level; while Domingo Lacson National High School, Angela Gonzaga National High School, Luisa Medel National High School, and M.G. Medalla Integrated School will compete for the secondary crown.
During last year’s schools division contest, ETCS II won the elementary competition, while Mandalagan National High School won the high school category.

This year’s competition is scheduled to take place on Saturday, October 26.
Meanwhile, a total 14 Bacolod City barangays are also expected to participate in the competition.
This year’s competitors include Barangays 4, 12, 16, 3, 39, 32, 5, 6, 40, Handumanan, Banago, Estefania, Bata, and defending champion Tangub.
Last year, aside from taking first place in the barangay category, Tangub was also awarded Best in Original Music. Barangay 18, which won Best in Choreography and Best in Costume, came in second place.
The competition is scheduled for Sunday, October 27./WDJ
