Ilongga athletes pick up more gold medals

Ilongga athletes Pamela Marquillero and Berna Luz Talaron each picked up a second gold medal in the ongoing University Games at the Iloilo Sports Complex in Iloilo City. Marquillero of the University of Santo Tomas (UST) won in the women’s 110-meter hurdles; while Talaron, another UST standout, triumphed in the women’s 100-meter dash.
In addition, Marquillero won silver in the 100-meter dash.
The two previously won gold in the women’s 4×200 meter relay alongside fellow Ilongga athlete Elvy Villagoniza and Negrense sprinter Jessa Mae Jarder.
Meanwhile, Jie Anne Calis increased the goal tally for UST with gold medals in the women’s 1500-meter and 800-meter dash events./ASC, WDJ
