Police Regional Office-6 (PRO-6) director, Police Brigadier General Rene Pamuspusan, recently ordered police personnel in the region to destroy their old police uniforms.
According to Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOPPO) director, Police Colonel Romeo Baleros, the order was made to ensure police officers can no longer use old uniforms in an effort to prevent them being used for illegal activity.
In response to the order, police chiefs across the province immediately confiscated old and faded uniforms and destroyed them.
Baleros pointed out, police officers have a P14,000 clothing allowance and all uniforms must be replaced every three years.
He added, those who fail to follow the order may face disciplinary action./DGB, WDJ
