The National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) released a memorandum late Monday night announcing the signal jamming schedule in relation to the ongoing MassKara Festival’s upcoming “highlight week.”
In a memorandum signed by Commissioner Gamaliel Cordoba, mobile phone signals will be unavailable beginning on Friday, October 25, through Sunday, October 27, along Lacson Street from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
The schedule for Friday coincides with the anticipated arrival of President Rodrigo Duterte, who is expected to deliver a speech during “Electric MassKara.”
Meanwhile, throughout the weekend, areas from the corner of Lizares-Araneta Streets to the Bacolod Public Plaza will experience signal jamming from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., during the MassKara Festival Street and Arena Dance Competition.
Signal jamming was earlier requested by the Bacolod City Police Office as part of security protocols./DGB, WDJ
