Ceres-Negros FC completed the 2019 Philippines Football League (PFL) undefeated following their 3-0 win over Kaya FC-Iloilo last Saturday at the Aboitiz Pitch in Lipa City, Batangas. The Bacolod City-based club finished with 22 wins, along with two draws against Stallion Laguna FC.
“It’s not easy to be unbeaten during the whole league,” said Ceres head coach Risto Vidaković.
The club had earlier secured their third consecutive PFL title.
After closing the first half scoreless, Ceres broke the deadlock in the 74th month with a header from striker OJ Porteria. Later in the match, just at the end of regulation time, midfielder Bienvenido Marañon doubled the lead.
Three minutes into stoppage time, midfielder James Younghusband made it 3-0.
In the other match, Green Archers United scored a 1-0 win over Philippine Air Force FC./ASC, WDJ
