A 1.7-magnitude earthquake was recorded overnight when a tremor struck just south of Nueva Valencia around 12:14 a.m.
A subsequent Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) bulletin reported no damages as a result of the quake nor were there aftershocks expected.
Last month, an overnight quake measuring 2.3 in magnitude also struck the island-province. According to Phivolcs, the epicenter was pinpointed just north of Jordan.
Quakes ranging between 1.0 and 3.0 in magnitude are often classified as a Level 1 on the Mercalli Intensity Scale, where the tremor goes almost undetected./WDJ
