PNP OIC to send-off augmentation forces
Philippine National Police (PNP) officer-in-charge, Lt. General Archie Francisco Gamboa will formally send-off augmentation forces for the ongoing MassKara Festival on Monday, October 21, at the Bacolod City Government Center.
The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) previously revealed a total of 3,220 personnel, along with 400 force multipliers will be deployed for the festival. In addition, at least 47 motorcycles, 23 patrol cars, and 59 hand-held radios will be utilized during the event, with additional patrol cars expected to arrive this weekend.
Last weekend, 600 Police Regional Office-6 police officers arrived in Bacolod City and were deployed to various locations across the city.
Earlier this month, Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOPPO) director, Police Colonel Romeo Baleros, yesterday announced they would be intensifying border control operations during the festival. The law enforcement official said intensified border controls are part of their support for the Bacolod City Police Office as a means of preventing criminals from entering the province, specifically into the city.
The NOPPO head said they will set-up checkpoints along the city’s points of entry and exit.
Meanwhile, Gamboa is also expected to visit NOPPO./WDJ
