The Petron Blaze Spikers survived a late surge by the PLDT Home Fibr Power Hitters to pull off a 25-18, 25-19, 26-28, 25-19 win over the weekend in the 2019 Philippine Superliga Invitational Cup at the San Juan Arena.
Cherry Rondina led Petron with 19 points and 22 excellent digs; while Frances Molina added 18 markers on 14 attacks, along with three kill blocks.
With the victory, Petron finished the elimination round with a 6-0 record and will face Foton Tornadoes Blue Energy this afternoon in the semifinals.
In other results, Foton scored a 21-25, 25-17, 27-25, 19-25, 15-11 win over the Generika-Ayala Lifesavers; while F2 Logistics Cargo Movers secured their spot in the semifinals after their 25-22, 25-15, 25-15 sweep over the Sta. Lucia Lady Realtors./ASC, WDJ
