Barangay Ginebra escapes San Miguel with 129-124 win

Barangay Ginebra San Miguel squandered a double-digit lead but managed to escape with a 129-124 win over the San Miguel Beermen last Sunday in the 2019 PBA Governors’ Cup at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Justin Brownlee finished with a triple-double on 28 points, 14 rebounds, and 14 assists; while Stanley Pringle added 27 markers; and Japeth Aguilar contributed 17.
Holding to a slim 35-32 lead after the first 12 minutes, Barangay Ginebra created distance in the second period with baskets from Brownlee and Jeffrei Chan for a 71-59 halftime lead.
Barangay Ginebra carried their momentum into the third period and went on to lead by as much as 18 points. However, in the fourth, San Miguel cut the deficit to 115-113.
In an effort to salvage the game, hits from Stanley Pringle and Justin Brownlee pushed Barangay Ginebra to a 123-114 lead./ASC, WDJ
