The legal team for Roy, Ricardo, Jr., and Emily Yanson, along with Celina Yanson-Lopez—often referred to as the ‘Yanson 4’—is seeking dismissal of the carnapping, grave coercion, and other criminal charges filed against them by the camp of Vallacar Transit Incorporated (VTI) President Leo Rey Yanson.
The charges stemmed over the reportedly illegal control and possession of two Mitsubishi L300 utility vans and two Foton wing-van trucks owned by VTI, which took place in July of this year.
VTI Material Control Department head Gary Manayon filed the complaint-affidavit before the Bacolod City Prosecutor’s Office with other respondents identified as Jerica Leanne Ramos, Jerina Louise Ramos, Ma. Judy Alcala, Police Brigadier General Noli Romana, and Police Colonel Jomil John Trio.
In a statement issued by Atty. Raul Bitoon, spokesperson for the ‘Yanson 4,’ he said the charges should be dismissed as they are devoid of the authority and legitimacy to act on behalf of VTI.
He added, legal counsel representing the ‘Yanson 4’ argued the complainants have no authority from the duly-constituted VTI Board of Directors to institute the criminal complaint.
Bitoon when on to point out, the complainant did not show nor submit documentation to prove Olivia Yanson is the legitimate VTI corporate secretary./DGB, WDJ
