Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson said the provincial government will be filling vacanies at all provincial government-operated district hospitals.
“We will try to fill up positions [at] the Teresita Jalandoni Provincial Hospital, Lorenzo Zayco District Hospital, and Cadiz District Hospital,” Lacson said. “We understand that there is so much to do, especially in the provincial and district hospitals.”
Provincial Board Member Rita Gatuslao earlier expressed concern over the lack of health personnel at the district hospitals.
“We find ourselves in a worse predicament as our public health facilities have been reporting a lack of manpower personnel since July,” she said.
Gatuslao called on the Hospital Operations Department to explain the situation to the Provincial Board and asked the Provincial Board Committee on Health to conduct an investigation into the matter./DGB, WDJ
