The BanKo Perlas Spikers secured a spot in the 2019 Premier Volleyball League Open Conference semifinals following their 25-27, 25-20, 25-22, 21-25, 15-9 win over the PacificTown-Army Lady Troopers yesterday at the University of St. La Salle Coliseum in Bacolod City.
Angelique Gervacio and Jorella de Jesus helped open the fifth set with a 5-2 edge; however, PacificTown-Army narrowed their deficit to 10-9 off shots from Honey Royce Tubino.
BanKo Perlas finished the set with a 5-0 run on back-to-back blocks by Gervacio and hits from Nicole Tiamzon and Suzanne Roces.
In other results over the weekend, Motolite Power Builders scored a 25-16, 25-21, 25-19 sweep over the BaliPure Purest Water Defenders at the San Juan Arena; while the Philippine Air Force Lady Jet Spikers pulled off a 20-25, 25-18, 29-27, 26-24 over the Choco Mucho Flying Titans./ASC, WDJ
