Over 350 students receive Tulong Dunong scholarship certificates

A total of 364 students from across the Negros Occidental fifth legislative district recieved certficates for the Tulong Dunong scholarship program, an initiative by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), during a ceremony over the weekend at the Binalbagan Catholic College gym.
Negros Occidental third district Rep. Marilou Arroyo led the ceremony and called on the scholars to “study more.”
Eligible students receive a maximum P12,000 per academic year, which is intended to cover tuition, other school fees, educational expenses, along with a cost of living allowance.
Requirements for the scholarship include being a Filipino citizen; finishing high school with a passing general weight average, or completing an Alternative Learning System or Philippine Educational Placement Test; and their parents’ combined gross annual income cannot exceed P350,000.
Also present at the ceremony were former Binalbagan Mayor Emmanuel Aranda and Karen Catalina Zaldivar of CHED./DGB, WDJ
