The Columbian Dyip returned to their winning ways in the 2019 PBA Governors’ Cup after their 102-90 takedown of Blackwater Elite last night at the Mall of Asia Arena.
Rashawn McCarthy top-scored for the Dyip with 25 points, including seven triples; while Jaymar Perez and Khapri Alston each added 24 markers.
The Dyip set the tempo early behind Perez and Alston for a 28-18 edge. They went on to maintain the edge early in the second but the Elite made late run to get to within 49-42 at the half.
Blackwater continued to inch closer in the third period as they trimmed the deficit to five points but conversions from Perez and Reden Celda gave the Dyip a 77-67 upperhand.
The Elite made their last push in the fourth frame to come to within single digits but consecutive triples from Celda, Perez, and McCarthy gave the Dyip their largest lead of 15 points./ASC, WDJ
