Provincial official: Schools lack comfort rooms, running water

After Iloilo Governor Arthur Defensor, Jr. convened the Provincial School Board yesterday to discuss this year’s budget priorities, they made note of the necessary construction and repair of comfort rooms, wash areas, and water systems at public schools across the province.
“We want to prioritize these facilities as they are, at the least, [a] budgetary priority of the Department of Education,” the governor said.
Meanwhile, Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) chief, Dr. Jerry Bionat, who was present at the meeting, pointed out some public schools lack comfort rooms and water systems.
He encouraged schools to submit requests for construction and repair./WDJ
