The Maybank Foundation recently recognized Agnes Hugo of Iloilo City as a “High Income Achiever” after completing the Reaching Independence and Sustainable Entrepreneurship (RISE) Program, which provides financial literacy training for the disabled community.
Hugo, who was diagnosed with lumbar spondylitis, a spinal condition pertaining to the degeneration of the lumbar vertebrae, which is located in the lower back, is currently assigned to the Iloilo City government’s Breaking Barriers for Young Adults with Disabilities
“The foundation was impressed with the rising number of participants during seminars,” said Persons with Disability Affairs Office head Blesilda Mabilog said. “The goal is actually to make you learn to save.”
