The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) gave a score of 88.3 percent to the Negros Occidental provincial government for their road clearing operations across the province. In a radio interview, DILG-Negros Occidental director, Atty. Ferdinand Panes, said the score is based on reports provided by the validation teams.
He said the validation teams were deployed to various towns and cities in order to determine if they were following the DILG’s memorandum.
Panes added, even though the current rating passed the standards set by DILG, he said they will continue monitoring towns and cities to make sure illegal structures do not resurface.
Earlier, the DILG in Bacolod City gave an 87 percent rating on its road clearing operations, while Iloilo City was rated 83 percent./DGB, WDJ
