Jericho Cruz of the NLEX Road Warriors led a 28-point comeback to secure a 113-111 overtime win over Barangay Ginebra San Miguel on Saturday in the 2019 PBA Governors’ Cup at the Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai, UAE.
Cruz finished the match with 13 points, while Oluseyi Ashaolu scored 25, John Paul Erram – 21, and Philip Paniamogan – 20.
Opening the third period down 69-41, NLEX clawed their way back behind baskets from Ashaolu, Erram, Paniamogan, and Kiefer Ravena to cut their deficit to 97-94. While Barangay Ginebra went on to pull ahead, 100-94, triples from Erram and Paniamogan tied up the game at 100-100.
Free throws by Justin Brownlee and Japeth Aguilar gave Barangay Ginebra a 103-100 lead but a Ravena triple extended the game into overtime.
Into overtime, Barangay Ginebra took a 111-107 lead before Paniamogan and Cruz delivered back-to-back triples, giving NLEX the win./ASC, WDJ
