This year’s MassKara Festival is set to open this afternoon with an opening ceremony scheduled to begin at 6:00 p.m. at the Bacolod Public Plaza bandstand. Festival Director Eli Tajanlangit said the event will feature light shows and colorful dance performances.
Also included in the presentation will be an Electric MassKara float, a MassKara “mob dance,” the MassKara Queen candidates, international solo mask performers from Cambodia and Indonesia, and short performances from the 14 entries in the Street and Arena Dance Competition barangay category.
A fireworks display and performances by the MassKara Dancers and guests will close the show.
Ceremonies will also mark the opening of festival sites at the plaza and Bacolod City Government Center (BCGC), along with carnival sites beside the Pope John Paul II Tower and the BCGC grounds./DGB, WDJ
