A house owned by a lawyer was reportedly burglarized over the weekend in Bacolod City. Police have requested anonymity for the victim and the home’s location.
Police Station 8 commander, Police Major Charles Gever, said the incident took place during the early morning hours on Saturday with the suspects gaining entry by climbing the house’s gate and destroying the door locks.
The still-unidentified suspect carted away around P200,000 worth of jewelry and P5,000 in cash, which were all stored inside the lawyer’s bedroom.
Gever said they believe the theft was an “inside job” as the suspects knew where the cash and jewelry were stored.
Police continue to investigate the incident./DGB, WDJ
