TNT KaTropa is currently 3-0 in the ongoing PBA Governors’ Cup following their 123-118 win over the Phoenix Pulse Fuel Masters earlier this week at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Holding to a 94-91 edge after three quarters, TNT opened the fourth quarter with consecutive triples from Jeth Troy Rosario and Roger Pogoy to take a 103-95 lead. Phoenix tried catching up but additional triples from Pogoy and Rosario gave TNT a 120-110 edge.
Phoenix made one final push, bringing the game to a 122-118 margin on inside baskets from Eugene Phelps and Alex Mallari, but a free throw by Rosario and crucial defensive stops sealed the win for TNT.
Rosario and KJ McDaniels top-scored with 32 points each, while Pogoy added 22 points, Jayson Castro – 20, and Celedonio Trollano – 13./ASC, WDJ
