Ilongga opposite hitter Aiza Maizo-Pontillas led the Petron Blaze Spikers in their 25-21, 25-14, 25-20 sweep over the Generika-Ayala Lifesavers earlier this week in the 2019 Philippine Superliga Invitational Conference at the San Juan Arena.
Maizo-Pontillas of Passi City unloaded 14 points and 15 digs, while Negrense outside hitter Bernadeth Pons finished with 14 markers, and Angel Legacion contributed 18 excellent sets,
“Yung mga attacks nila kailangan maging ready both blockers and yung floor defense namin at service pa rin (When they attack out blockers and floor defense needs to be ready, along with our service),” said Petron head coach Shaq Delos Santos. “Kailangan improve pa ng improve and ma-maintain talaga namin yung ganung klase ng laro (We must continue to improve in order to maintain this level of play).”
In the other match, Foton Tornadoes Blue Energy scored a 25-21, 25-20, 25-18 win over the PLDT Home Fibr Power Hitters.
