Roy, Ricardo, Jr., and Emily Yanson, along with Celina Yanson-Lopez—often referred to as the ‘Yanson 4’—claimed their children are being deliberately drawn into the family’s intra-corporate feud. Based on a statement published over the weekend, they claimed several complaints have been filed before the Bacolod City Office of the City Prosecutor linking the third generation children of the Yanson family with allegations of criminal offense.
In a complaint-affidavit filed last month, several of the third generation children, together with the ‘Yanson 4’ and other respondents, were charged with carnapping, grave coercion, and other crimes. The charges were reportedly in connection with a supposed “illegal taking of control and possession” of “two Mitsubishi L300 utility vans and two Foton wing-van trucks.” The vehicles were owned by Vallacar Transit Incorporated (VTI), parent company of the Ceres bus liner.
Another complaint filed earlier this month accused the various parties of robbery and qualified theft and the discovery of missing property following the takeover of VTI’s headquarters and South Terminal in Bacolod City.
The ‘Yanson 4’ denied the allegations and called them “trumped-up charges.”/DGB, WDJ
