DLSZ beats Adamson in UAAP girls’ volleyball

De La Salle Santiago Zobel School (DLSZ) needed five sets to beat Adamson University in the 82nd UAAP girls’ volleyball season with Lorien Gamboa of Silay City leading the 28-26, 25-21, 22-25, 7-25, 15-8 win.
The transfer from St. John’s Institute top-scored for DLSZ with 19 points, while Irah Anika Jaboneta of Antique chipped in 18 markers.
After taking the first two sets, DLSZ stumbled to close out the match. With the game stretched to a fifth set, Gamboa and Jaboneta sealed the win.
In the other match, Nazareth School of National University scored a 25-17, 25-18, 25-18 sweep over University of Santo Tomas.
Evangeline Alinsug led the win with 15 points and 10 digs, while Alyssa Solomon chipped in 13 points on eight spikes, along with four blocks./ASC, WDJ
