Celina Yanson-Lopez, chief financial officer for Vallacar Transit Incorporated, parent company of the Ceres bus liner, claimed the “window for reconciliation” is “still open,” referring to the ongoing public feud within their family.
The company official, who recently donated grocery packs to the St. Vincent’s Home for the Aged in Bacolod City’s Barangay Tangub, said she told her children to visit their grandmother, Olivia Yanson, but she was not available at the time.
“In due time, I will visit my mother but maybe not now,” Yanson-Lopez said. “I will follow my heart and instincts.”
“We cannot immediately visit her, especially with guards under orders not to allow us to visit her,” she added.
The family matriarch earlier pointed to Yanson-Lopez regarding a missing P380 million in company funds and claimed an audit report conducted by independent firm SGV & Co. showed the CFO had at least that amount in unaccounted advances/liabilities with the company.
However, earlier this month, SGV & Co. cleared Yanson-Lopez as the Poblador Bautista and Reyes Law Offices affirmed: “Without disclosing the contents of its report, SGV can confirm that the report did not refer to Ms. Yanson-Lopez as the person directly liable for the loss of the funds.”/DGB, WDJ
