TNT KaTropa kicked off their 2019 PBA Governors’ Cup campaign with a 135-107 domination over Blackwater Elite last night at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.
KJ McDaniels flirted with triple-double for TNT on 41 point, 22 rebounds, and seven assists; while Roger Pogoy added 18 points, and Jeth Troy Rosario chipped in 17.
KaTropa surged to a 19-9 start on consecutive baskets from McDaniels and Pogoy. Their lead grew further to 34-19 after the quarter with conversions from McDaniels and Rosario.
The Elite rallied to within 11 in the second period but KaTropa found its shooting touch from outside behind Jayson Castro and Celedonio Trollano to build a 53-30 advantage.
Blackwater would only manage to narrow their deficit to 10 points as TNT soared in the second half with McDaniels spearheading the offense and increasing their lead to as much as 32 points./ASC, WDJ
