One dead, four injured after pick-up plows into Cauayan home

At least one person was confirmed dead, while four others were injured, after a pick-up truck slammed into a house Tuesday afternoon in Cauayan. Police identified the fatality as Noe Degillo, the driver and a resident of the town’s Barangay Bulata.
The injured were meanwhile identified as 59-year-old Kent Elardo, 42-year-old Mark Ebarat, 60-year-old Rogelio Degillo, and five-year-old Noela Mae Degillo.
Cauayan municipal police chief, Police Major Lowell Garinganao, said vehicle, which originated from Sipalay City, was travelling too fast when it lost control and crashed into a home owned by Allan Margarce.
He added, investigations show the driver was inebriated at the time of the incident.
The victims were rushed to the Sipalay City District Hospital for treatment, where Noe was eventually declared dead on arrival by hospital staff.
The injuries incurred, meanwhile, were said to be not serious as some were discharged after being treated./DGB, WDJ
