The Generika-Ayala Lifesavers scored a 25-19, 25-23, 25-17 sweep over the Marinerang Pilipina Skippers last Tuesday in the 2019 Philippine SuperLiga Invitational Conference at the Bacoor Strike Gym in Cavite.
Mean Mendrez and Ilongga outside hitter Fiola Ceballos top-scored for Generika-Ayala with 12 points each, while Bacolodnon outside hitter Patty Jane Orendain chipped in 10 markers, Jamie Lavitoria contributed a double-double with 13 excellent sets and 15 digs, and Marivic Meneses finished with seven points.
“It was a good momentum-builder for us,” said Ceballos. “It feels good to kick off the conference with a win and we hope we can continue this kind of intensity.”
In the other match, the Sta. Lucia Lady Realtors came back from a set down to pull off a 13-25, 25-18, 25-23, 25-19 win over the Foton Tornadoes Blue Energy./ASC, WDJ
