Handumanan National High School recently created the School for Environmental Action Leadership, an organization established between the school, the Chamber of Young Entrepreneurs, and Brigadiers of Environment for Reconstruction and Development.
According to their mission statement: “People must not destroy Mother Earth. They should plant, protect, preserve, and praise environment perhaps, as a means of mitigating the ill-effects of global warming.”
Recently, the organization conducted a tree-planting in Bacolod City’s Barangay Punta Taytay, where 3,000 seedlings for endemic trees, or species native to the local area, were planted.
Police Station 10 also took part in the event./WDJ
