Gasataya: 12-inch pavement is replacing eight-inch pavement

In response to questions raised by Land Bank of the Philippines director, Atty. Jayvee Hinlo, regarding the ongoing road repairs along Hernaez Street in Bacolod City, Bacolod City lone district Rep. Greg Gasataya provided an explanation over the weekend.
The Landbank official characterized the ongoing work by saying, “Forced destruction of good roads is a waste of taxpayers’ money.” He then called for the congressman to check with the Department of Public Works and Highways on why the road in question was being “forcibly destroyed.”
Gasataya responded, “All existing eight-inch thick pavement [along] the outer lanes are being replaced with 12-inch thick pavement.”
He added, draining facilities will also be installed under the pavement.
Aside from Hinlo, the project was also under scrutiny by netizens./DGB, WDJ
