Ceres-Negros FC is scheduled to play Stallion Laguna FC this weekend, Sunday, September 22, in the 2019 Philippines Football League (PFL) beginning at 3:30 p.m. at the Aboitiz Pitch in Lipa City, Batangas. The match is their third meeting of the season with the Biñan City-based side serving Ceres FC their sole draw of the entire season during their opener. The Negrense side then scored a 5-0 win last month.
The Bacolod City-based side is coming off a 2-0 win over regional rivals Kaya FC-Iloilo. The victory extended their lead atop the PFL table to nine points. Meanwhile, Stallion Laguna will be looking to bounce back from a 0-0 draw with Mendiola FC last Wednesday.
Given the Negrense club’s current lead, Ceres FC head coach Risto Vidaković earlier said it was premature to think about a possible three-peat as the season is still ongoing.
“We have seven games more,” he explained. “We have to win four games to be sure that we are champions again.”
