Standhardinger, Pringle called up by Gilas Pilipinas

Christian Standhardinger and Stanley Pringle were both recently called up to the Philippine men’s national basketball team, Gilas Pilipinas, ahead of the upcoming 2019 Southeast Asian Games, which is scheduled to begin on November 30 in the Philippines.
Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP) President Al Panlilio announced the two were part of the 24-man squad submitted to the Philippine Southeast Asian Games Organizing Committee. Also included were George Isaac Go and Ferdinand ‘Thirdy’ Ravena III of Ateneo de Manila University.
“As we speak right now, my assessment is we are going to start from scratch,” said special assistant to the SBP president Ryan Gregorio. “We want to have some youth movement also; we want to have some collegiate players and get the necessary experience.”
“The combination of PBA and amateur players,” he added.
Gregorio noted, it is still a provisional lineup as they await the appointment of a new head coach after Joseller ‘Yeng’ Guiao announced his decision to step down from the post earlier this month./ASC, WDJ
