The Rain or Shine Elasto Painters and NorthPort Batang Pier both recently brought in imports ahead of the upcoming 2019 PBA Governors’ Cup, which begins on Friday, September 20.
Rain or Shine recruited Joel Wright, who previously played for the Magnolia Hotshots; while Batang Pier signed Mychal Ammons, a former player for TNT KaTropa.
While with Magnolia, Wright averaged 28.4 points, 14.5 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 1.8 steals, and 1.4 blocks. In addition, during his stint with Swiss Basketball League team BBC Monthey-Chablais, he averaged 15.5 points, 4.3 boards, 2.5 steals, and 1.3 rejections.
Meanwhile, Ammons averaged 14.75 points, 12.92 rebounds, and 1.5 blocks in his 12 games with TNT./ASC, WDJ
