TIP Engineers earns semifinals berth

The BRT Sumisip Basilan-St. Clare Saints recently scored a massive 180-117 win over Hyperwash Vipers at the Paco Arena in Manila and earned a spot in the 2019 PBA D-League Foundation Cup semifinals.
Cris Dumapig finished with a double-double for Basilan-St. Clare with 21 points and 12 rebounds; while James Camacho and Jhaps Bautista each added 18 points.
Meanwhile, the TIP Engineers also advanced to the semifinals following their 82-71 win over Black Mamba Energy Drink.
Papa Ndiaye tallied 22 points and nine rebounds for TIP; while Rey De Mesa supplied 12 points, four rebounds, and three assists; and Bryan Santos contributed 10 markers.
TIP started strong and went up 30-14 in the second quarter before Black Mamba rallied and took a 46-44 edge after Jay Gadon’s free throws. However, TIP answered with a 16-5 run, punctuated by Jun Bonsubre’s triple en route to restore an 11-point lead, 60-49, with 7:26 left in the game./ASC, WDJ
