Ordinance suggests ‘Smile Road,’ ‘MassKara Road’

Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson said he recently asked Bacolod City Councilor Carl Lopez for a copy of an ordinance he penned that seeks to rename North and South Capitol Roads to Smile Road and MassKara Road, respectively. The governor said he will make his decision on the matter known once he receives a copy of the Sangguniang Panlungsod decision.
Based on the ordinance, the new names were suggested since the two roads are part of the Lacson Street venue for the annual MassKara Festival.
Recently, Lopez also urged Bacolod City Mayor Evelio Leonardia to set up beach volleyball courts at both the Bacolod City Government Center and the site of the proposed Bacolod MassKara Coliseum./DGB, WDJ
