The Marinerong Pilipino Skippers advanced to the 2019 PBA D-League Foundation Cup semifinals following their 100-78 win over the AMA Online Education Titans last Thursday at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.
Eluid Poligrates led the win with 19 points, three rebounds, three assists, and three steals; Negrense forward Mark Yee produced 13 points and six rebounds; JR Alabanza supplied 12 points and eight boards; and Jhonard Clarito and Ilonggo guard John Byron Villarias each added 11 points.
From a narrow 17-14 lead in the opening quarter, Poligrates and Yee anchored the Skippers’ 15-0 run to give them a 32-14 advantage early in the second. Their lead reached its widest margin at 68-42.
