The Bacolod Master Sardines scored a 68-59 victory last Thursday in the ongoing Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League Lakan Cup over Imus Bandera at the Batangas City Coliseum.
Mark Tallo led the win with 25 points, including five three-point conversions; while Nico Paolo Javelona scored 12; and Justin Alano added 10.
Bacolod surged to a 12-0 start on conversions from Tallo, Arturo Dimas, and Jopher Custodio.
While they maintained a 33-20 lead in the second half with shots from Tallo and William Vasalio, Imus responded by going on a third period run with Anthony Helterbrand and Gerald Anderson narrowing the deficit to 44-42.
In the final period, Bacolod regained its form as three-point hits by Custodio and Tallo gave them a 53-44 edge. Subsequent triples from Tallo grew their lead to as much as 13 points./ASC, WDJ
