Kurt Lojera scored the game-winner for De La Salle University (DLSU) in their narrow 83-82 win over National University (NU) earlier this week in the ongoing 82nd UAAP men’s basketball season at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
DLSU led for most of the game, with a largest margin of 80-66 in the final quarter; however, after NU went on a 16-1 run, that lead turned into an 82-81 deficit for DLSU. Lojera’s go-ahead baseline jumper with 14.9 seconds left on the clock allowed DLSU to salvage their first win of the season.
“It showed, in the last quarter, we were rattled,” said DLSU head coach Gian Nazario. “Good thing Kurt had that jumper from the corner and it was a good learning experience for us.”
Justine Baltazar led the win with a double-double on 23 points and 10 rebounds; while Jamie Malonzo also contributed a double-double with 14 points and 10 boards.
In the other game, Adamson University scored a 91-80 win over the University of the East./ASC, WDJ
