According to Community Anti-Drug Coalition of Bacolod Coordinator Richard Nessia, over 10,000 people are expected to participate in the “Lakad Iwas Droga,” an event against illegal drugs, which is scheduled to take place across Bacolod City this Sunday, September 15.
Two groups will take part in a walk, one starting at the Lupit Church along Lizares Street and another along South Capitol Road, and converge at the Bacolod Public Plaza, where a program will be held.
According to Nessia, “The event aims to raise awareness on the harmful effects of illegal drugs and encourage Bacolodnons to be advocates of drug abuse prevention.”
He added, the biggest delegation will win P10,000 cash incentive.
Dangerous Drugs Board Executive Director Earl Saavedra will serve as guest speaker; while Bacolod City Mayor Evelio Leonardia, Vice Mayor El Cid Familiaran, and Lone District Rep. Greg Gasataya are also expected to address the event./WDJ
